The Basics

Brera is one of the most fashionable neighborhoods in Milan for a before-dinner aperitivo and a great place to experience Milan’s excellent food and wine scene, so consider joining a small-group food tour or wine tasting. Food walking tours are also available in Brera.

In addition to strolling through Brera and enjoying the scene, you can visit the neighborhood’s main attraction: the famous Brera Art Gallery (Pinacoteca di Brera), one of Italy’s most important museums, with works by Botticelli, Raphael, Hayez, Titian, Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Piero della Francesca, Rembrandt, Rubens, and Andrea Mantegna. The designer shopping district Quadrilatero d’Oro, where the elegant Milanese head to update their wardrobes, is also nearby.

Food tour extraordinaire!
The food tour was fantastic. Our guide, Georgia, was wonderful. She greeted us with a beautiful smile which never left her face for the entire tour. She was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and never in a rush. We had a leisurely, relaxed, and thoroughly great time. The venues in the Brera district were very accommodating and the food and wine samples were representative of Milanese cuisine. We have been on many outstanding food tours in many cities, but none better than this tour with Georgia. She is a prize!

Milan Food Walking Tour of Brera
This was a great tour for foodies with 6 stops, tasting local foods from some of the places you would walk past without a second look. Fabulous food and drink coupled with a knowledgeable guide, what more would you want?

Milan Food Walking Tour of Brera
What a fantastic tour of; arguably, the coolest district on the planet, Brera. Our wonderful guide, Merilla was an absolute joy and clearly very proud of her city and the food and culture of that city. The lasagne we tried was just sublime and the gelato was off the charts. Highly recommended

Brera district & Pinacoteca 2-hours guided experience with entrance tickets included
We purchased this tour through Viator to have a better experience on a visit to Pinacoteca museum. Out tour guide gave us a brief tour on Brera district, and guides arts in the museum. She was very knowledgeable and explained clearly. Especially she took time to go through all of the must-see art pieces in depth. She made our museum visit wonderful. We definitely recommend anyone to hire Viator.

Brera district & Pinacoteca 2-hours guided experience with entrance tickets included
Our guide(Fatima?) was very knowledgeable and friendly. She met us promptly, there were just the 2 of us. The Brera Gallery is a Wonderful place to study the various art forms throughout history. Our guide took us through the Early Christian and Medieval periods right up to the 20th century. She gave her presentation with regard to items we were most interested in seeing. Caravaggio painting for my wife, for example. The Brera District tour was interesting as well.

M was simply the loveliest tour guide. She took us to every local spot, and we learned so much history you simply won’t get by yourself or on massive groups. It felt so intimate. I’ll do it every single time

We had a great morning touring the Brera area and sampling delicious specialties of Milan. Our guide, Veronica, was very knowledgeable and friendly. My advice to others is to come to this tour with an appetite, as there was an abundance of food tastings throughout the morning.
