Too Much Time on Bus and Selling Stuff
Bennett_P
, Jan 2022
First let me say that the Guide Augustine was very funny and knowledgeable and because Coba was closed the company swapped out a trip to an authentic Mayan village. That was the great part. The biggest issue was the amount of time on the bus it totaled to over 6 hours and the bus was not comfortable at all with seat in back where we were stuck (5 of us) that were child size. Moreover, with all the drive time there was very little time to spend at Tulum, the Cenote and Playa Del Carmen. In between we were continuously being pummeled with sales pitches and tip requests.

We didn’t go to tulum it was closed and no one told us. We left the hotel at 6:30 am and we return at midnight it was verry horrible with kids. We just lost a complete day and it was verry exhausting. We ate one time in all these day and it was horrible.

A tiring trip

Unfortunately, the Coba complex was closed. Instead we visited a Mayan village, which was uninteresting. Lunch was terrible. Overall, the trip was too long and we did not see much interesting. The night hour stop in Playa del Carmen was absolutely useless

Waste of time and money

Never went to Coba!!! The bus wasted so much time picking up so many people!!! We took a detour to a small house that felt like a scam. They did some dumb ritual with tip jars then after we’re led to a small hut with souvenirs. Out tour guide left us in Tulum and we had to ask other tour guides for help to get in the park. This tour sucked. Then we went to a buffet which wasn’t that good. They offered us drinks then after we drank them they told us to pay $3 each. They should’ve told us in advance instead of a surprise.

Liked Tulum and Cenote - rest was disorganized

It was memorable to see the ruins and the cenote, however the rest of the day was poorly communicated and executed. When we were picked up at our resort the van was full, so we had to sit on the van floor. We also knew that we wouldn't be going to Coba, however the new plans were not communicated. And, everywhere that we went was asking us to buy something or tip for something. At the end of the day (10 hours later!) they took us to Playa del Carmen to shop and walk around, and by that point all we wanted to do was return to our resort.

Very nice AC bus, wish there was a little more attention to masks. The driver was coughing nonstop the whole time

Loooong Day 8:(
Greg_J
, Dec 2021
Tour guides put energy into the day. However, at every stop people took their time getting back to the bus and even though they warned them to be on time we were always waiting 20-30 min for late people. By the end of the tour that was supposed to take 11 hours it took 15! NOT acceptable

We are sorry about this feeling but as you state we try everything for punctuality in the meeting points but this its out of our hands we will try to improve with telling people about this. We hope all the activities and zones that are the tour you enjoy them.

Friendly staff but not as expected

Our trip was for 4 places and we were only taken to 2/4 places. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Bus was nice but we should have been told at the beginning we weren't able to go to coba or playa

We appreciate your comment, we want to inform you that the Coba archaeological zone closed that same day due to maintenance work, it is for this reason that we did not visit Coba, however we were able to offer you a visit to the Mayan Village to complement your tour, the visit to Playa del Carmen, as the descriptive mentions it, is only included for people who are staying in the area between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, since at the end of this visit we are heading back to Cancun, in this case your hotel is in Puerto Aventuras, that is why due to operational logistics we could not take you to Playa del Carmen. We will review your feedback so that we can continue to improve and provide you with a better experience in the future. Arturo Hernández

Strange
Jonathan_W
, Dec 2021
Good locations, bad tour guides. I didn’t learn anything about the ruins and more often they just left us to do our own thing. Uncomfortable generally and strange comments from one of the guides. Tried to upsell us continually - don’t bother with any upgrade or diamond package. Driver did a great job of driving us for 12 hours though so fair play.

No complaints what so ever. Totally worth it. In good hands! Great tour guide & driver. In Tulum definitely have them drive you in the bike if you want to enjoy seeing everything.
