Mt. Etna nature and flavors half day Tour from Catania

Fantastic tour guide and a really fun day out. Loved feeling the breeze on the volcano and tasting the lovely wines from the region. The cave experience was great for someone who doesn't enjoy small enclosed spaces.

I really enjoyed the view, the guide was super cool, very informative, full of energy. I learnt many new things. Small group of people was great. The possibility to see the lava cave and to taste local products(oil, honey, liqueurs, pistacchio creme) was really amazing. The tour wasn't too hard, and the temperature was pleasent, although sometimes little cold during the strong wind.

Very nice trip enjoyed a lot. Very nice guide gives all the stories and information one needs about mount etna and local wines. Recommended 👍

The van arrived on time and the guide was friendly enough. The main focus of the tour was the visit to Etna. The van took us to the bottom of the cable car. Here there were three options. There was in theory an included hike, but it became clear on arrival that this missed anything of interest so everyone ended up spending quite a bit more to get further up the hill. We opted for the middle option of €30 pp to get the cable car further up. For another €38 a truck would have taken us a bit further still. We were pretty much left alone at the top of the cable car - not even a map or suggested route. So the €55 pp to join the tour started to feel like quite an expensive bus ride with not much added value. The guide was 30 minutes after the agreed time meeting us at the meeting point at the end. There are two extras tagged onto the tour - 15 minutes In a lava cave which is not the most inspiring cave you will ever see then a longer stop for tasting of local produce. The setting for this is quite nice and the selection of products fairly generous. It was quite a pleasant event although obviously something of a promotion to encourage you to buy items from the shop. Etna itself is worth a visit and you can get some photos with the mountain steaming in the background but we didn’t get to go close to any activity. It is a shame there is only one public bus a day but I would suggest getting it if you can because it is much better value and gives you the chance to enjoy a wider range of activities when you get there or simply to do the steep climb if you are on a tight budget.

We had a great day! Our guide, Salvatore, was very friendly, easy to talk to, with lots of information to share. Etna was fascinating to say the least. Plus the wine and olive oil tasting! That was a treat. Highly recommended, worth the money.

Do not go in this tour if you get carsick!! Also, even though it says “half day”, we were picked up around 0900 and didn’t get back to our hotel until 1700. The tasting was great and Florence was so impressive with the languages she spoke. Overall, it’s a great price for the tour and experience

Giussepe was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He was attuned to the varied needs of each of us. His approach is welcoming and friendly. Definitely a memorable experience!

Was great tour. Enzo was our guide, he make great tour. He told history catania and Etna. Was funny, relax.

Communication is bad. Trips are not clearly explained. Disappointed in customer service. I signed up for two trips (by accident) thinking one was different. The guide knew it looked suspicious but didn’t think to reach out snd ask/clarify. When I requested his help in cancelling the next day/trip, He stated, “I don’t work for Viator. I work for a different company.” Consequently, I was charged for trip #2. They would not refund. I feel like guide could have at least made a phone call or something on my behalf but he didn’t want to be bothered. And I feel like Viator could have easily refunded the wrong/extra trip especially since I had clearly gone e in the same trip the day before.
