I feel I would avoid this firm

Viator's subcontractor tour operator never showed up and only after we called to ask where they where did they tell us they had no record of our booking (despite Viator confirming the day before). When we did call, the sub hung up on is and then when I called again did they acknowledge the problem but without explanation or solution. I would never book with Viator again as there is no accountability for their failures. Always find someone loral for tours. On another note, TripAdvisor, there parent company, has old information all over the place. The Civic Museum in Catania is still listed as being temporarily closed despite it being very much open. It is my opinion that I would look elsewhere for holiday information and bookings.

If you want to see the highlights of Noto, Syracuse and Ortigia then this trip is a perfect choice. We had a very competent, multilingual guide who gave us a nice mix of history, cultural facts and gastronomic information. A perfect mix between guided tours and free time. For us this tour had a very good price quality balance. Thumbs-up

It was good, except we booked an English tour and didn't expect that most of the other travellers were Spanish speaking. It was exhausting to follow and took a lot of time to explain things in different languages. Also the English parts were shorter. Didn't feel too comfortable.
Places and guide were nice though.
Definitely worth it!

Since I didn't want to take the bus or rent a car, this tour was perfect for me. It was a relaxing time, I got the chance to see so many beautiful sceneries, listen to the stunning stories of a competent and friendly tour guide, ask questions, got some free time to explore the places on my own and experience more of fascinating Sicily!

Our tour guide was a lovely friendly polite guide. He pointed out the papyrus plant found in the gorgeous historical centre of Syracuse, Ortigia, Papyrus is a material similar to thick paper that was used in ancient times as a writing surface. He incorporated some cultural experiences into the tour, sharing the language of local Sicilian dialect. He was patient, understanding, would gladly take some more tours!

Individual pick-up from the Hotel...

Individual pick-up from the Hotel was efficient but took time which seems to cut into the days touring. Especially since two guests were located way outside the core of the city. Good for the tour company to flex to these customers but it was a little drain on the rest of us who had to go for the ride. At least on the way back they were the last dropped off after those of us in the center of the city were dropped off. Once the tour started it is great. Out tour guide spoke English with an accent but was easily understandable and the sites and explanations we saw and heard were well worth the time and cost of the trip. I would recommend this to all who want to see the historical part of Sicily.
We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.

Why you are seeing these recommendations
Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
