Discover the beauty of Dubrovnik while learning about the city’s interesting past on this historical walking tour. Stop At:
Walls of Dubrovnik
We will stop to buy the city walls tickets and then we will walk the city walls. Marvel at the beautiful blue colors of the Adriatic Sea and admire breathtaking views of the port and the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while your guide takes you through the history of the city walls. In the 11th century, the sea channel separating the city from mainland was covered up with earth, so a single wall was built to enclose the present-day Old Town. The city walls have been restored several times in history to resemble their original appearance. With your guide, see Fort Revelin and Minceta Tower within the city walls (entrance fees not included), and learn the strategic position of these forts and their role in Dubrovnik's history. You will also see Fort Lovrijenac in the distance, the only fort that belongs to the city walls but it's physically separated from them, and which you may visit after the tour. As you wander around Dubrovnik's ancient walls, your guide will explain the defensive and political challenges faced by Dubrovnik in the past. Hear stories of the rivalry and conquest Dubrovnik has faced and learn the secrets of how the country used defensive fortifications and diplomacy to remain an independent republic for several years, before ending your tour near the port. *Entrance fee to City Walls not included in price.

All about Dubrovnik
Helady_S

We had the pleasure of having Ivan as our guide. He was born in Dubrovnik and had lived in the old city. Beyond having much knowledge about the city's history, he loves it, making the tour dynamic, informative, and attractive. He also gives tips on how to explore this wonderful city further. We had a wonderful time! A useful proposal to be introduced to why Dubrovnik is the Adriatic pearl!

Similar, Repetitive Tours
Ryan_H

We did the city wall tour in the AM and the old town tour in the afternoon. Didn't feel like too much walking but the wall requires a lot of steep stairs so if you have mobility problems, this walk may not be for you. The tour doesn't include the wall access ticket itself; for the same price (or slightly more), we bought a city access card which includes the wall ticket as well as city bus tickets, discounts to ferries, parks and museums, etc. (You can but the 1 day, 3 day, or 7 Day option). Our tour guide gave us tonnes of info about the city in the first tour (and views of the city and sea are worth the walk), but much of it was repeated in the afternoon tour so it may be better to do the wall tour with this organization and find a different walking tour with a new guide.

Extortionate price to walk the walls
Elizabeth_H
, Apr 2022
The guides we had for these two tours, Branko and Jelena were both very knowledgeable about all things Dubrovnik and we had a great time. However, doing them both together there is duplication of information when you take the walls tour, after first having done the walking tour. I would also like to point out that although it says the cost of entering the walls is not included, it should advise of the cost. For 2 adults this was £55. (Children are £11) If I had known this initially, I would only have done the walking tour as the walls are great but not worth paying £55 for on top of the tour price. I appreciate that there is always the upkeep of such ‘monuments’ but having travelled the world extensively, I have never paid such a high figure to walk around a walled city. My recommendation is just to do the Dubrovnik walking tour and view the walls from below.
icon Response from Host , Jul 2022
Dear Elizabeth, thank you for your review! We are a walking tour company, we do not determine the city walls prices. We offer tours, we don't sell or resell any entrance tickets. Our walking tours are all free of charge for children under the age of 11. We agree that the city walls are expensive, and we are sorry about that, but that fee is determined by the Association that manages them. We do highlight at least 3 times the price of the entrance tickets before and after the booking on all websites where our tours are sold. But very often people don't read...Here it is once again, if 1 person sees it - we'll be happy. ;) Walls entrance ticket is 250 Kunas per person in 2022 (cca 35 Euros). Kids aged 5-18 pay 100 kn each (cca 14 Eur). Entrance ticket is valid for only 1 visit. It is much better to buy Dubrovnik Card (they renamed it Dubrovnik Pass in 2022), for the same price you get discounts at certain museums, free public transportation, discounts at restaurants, etc.. But it is a 1 day card. Again - this is not tailored or sold by us. We provide the tours and hand out the information about entrance tickets. Thank you for understanding that! :)

Great Introduction to Dubrovnik

Good guides but too much repeating of the same history information when you do the combo tour.
Yvonne_C
, Sep 2021
This is a well organised tour and on the city walk part we had a very friendly and funny guide Called Branko who gave us a great over view on the history of Dubrovnik. The second part of the day was a walk of the wall we had Davor as our guide who gave us a very good unbiased overview of the 1990’s war. May only negative feedback is more to the company who organises this combo tour and that is there is too much overlapping of the same information when you do both tours and with that in mind I would recommend doing the city walk with a guide and doing the walls on your own as it’s a repeat of the history from the city walk! even with the guide you have to pay to enter the walls separately anyway.
icon Response from Host , Sep 2021
Dear Yvonne, Yes, you pay the Walls entrance separately and we wrote that at least 3-6 times on all the websites where we sell our tours. We sell tours, not any entrance tickets and we make that very clear. We are surprised to hear that you think there was overlapping between two completely different tours. Both Davor and Branko are very professional and helpful guides, who do have certain topics to follow, but we are not strict on this, we also give them a lot of freedom in what they talk about; they probably wanted to go above and beyond with their explanations so that everyone in the group can fully enjoy this experience. Sometimes people ask questions, the guides cannot be rude, they have to answer...I guess they went into details of something you already heard, but I am 99.9% sure that this happened on maximum of 1 topic (3 minutes). We don't think that either deserves 3*. As for the company, this is a small local family owned business, not a corporation as you obviously think. We support and respect both our guides and our guests. We've been doing this sunce 2006, for 15 years. We sell awesome tours with pride. We don't work for reviews and unlike so many small family owned businesses we don't fear them. Majority of our guests rates all our tours with 5* and that speaks volume. We thank them for that. This review will harm us and the timing is awful, but it will not destroy us. We cannot please everyone. We are well aware of that. We can just keep on doing our best and rest assured, we shall. We wish you a nice day! Kind regards, Maris Pavicevic

Walls Tour - incredible. Old Town - so so.
Boris_N
, Aug 2021
Davor was an incredible guide and made the tours fun. The Walls tour was incredible. Very interesting with amazing views. The Old Town tour (for which the company changed the time on us the day before) was much less interesting. Davor made it better with a few great stories, but in general the tour was not worth it.

Stunning views, interesting history, all presented in a very engaging manner. Davor is very passionate about the history of Dubrovnik and is a wealth of knowledge. Don’t miss out on these tours.

Dear Bojan, Thank you for your lovely review. You really understand the essence of our tours, which is always the combo of the story and the guide. Then come the locations. This cannot be found when walking on your own. :) Thank you once again, much appreciated. Kind regards, Veronika Dubrovnik Walks

This was a lovely tour. Our guide Jadranka gave us all the information we wanted to know, entertained us with stories from history and was very helpful and informative. The tour was well organized and well paced so it wasn't a problem to walk around even in the heat. I think this is a good combination for seeing the main sights of Dubrovnik.

Good way to break up tour of the city
BabiAlarcon

This combo was a good way to get a lot in during a day, while still having a break to relax and wander around the Old Town. However, the Old Town portion was a little "light" on content, while the Walls tour was excellent

Better to Tour on your Own

Very Interesting City and Walls . Unfortunately spoiled by Overly Political Guide. While we understand the severe difficulties during the 1990s siege , the political diatribe was constant . We left the group and toured the wall on our own.

Don't do both Old Town and Walls
COYS2019

Both guides were excellent but there was quite a lot of duplication in the commentaries. A bit awkward navigating the walls in a big group so maybe do that one on your own and enjoy learning the history during the old town tour.
