Cinque Terre is one of Italy’s most captivating landscapes. Translated as ‘five lands,’ the region is made up of five unique fishing villages that line the Italian Riviera.

Your day trip begins in central Florence, where meet your guide and hop aboard your coach to head out toward the seashore. Stop first in the southernmost village of Riomaggiore, which dates back to the 13th century. Beloved for its local wine and incomparable scenery, admire the pastel-colored buildings as you follow your guide along the cobblestone streets.

Head to the tiny village of Manarola next, home to medieval relics and a plethora of grapevines. Stroll the harbor and take snapshots of the beautiful, bright buildings that cling to the cliff.

Then, weather permitting, hop aboard your boat to travel to Monterosso. If you choose to include lunch with your ticket, settle down in one of the village’s restaurants for a traditional helping of seafood and pasta, complemented by wine and water. (A sample menu can be found in the Itinerary section.)

Afterward, with taste buds and stomach sated, enjoy some time to explore independently. Unpack your bathing suit and hit the jeweled waters of Monterosso’s stunning beaches.

Make a final stop in Vernazza, bordered by terraced olive groves that are said to produce some of the finest olive oil in Italy. Explore the bustling square and winding streets at your leisure, before returning back to Florence.

Note: Cinque Terre low-cost option does not include train and boat tickets.

Such a great day! A pretty relaxed tour experience with free time to explore 4 of the 5 seaside villages that make up Cinque Terra. All beautiful and a great to see the area and get a feel for which one you might want to return to in the future. If you like free time to explore a number of stops this is the tour for you! All tickets already set and plenty of time to enjoy each location.

Great tour destination, great tour guide (Marta), great transportation! 100% recommend this tour to all families, solo travelers, and couples visiting Italy. The bus was comfortable on the way to Cinque Terre, and then we were able to take trains and a boat which was a great experience!

Would not recommend

Unfortunately, this trip is not very well organized. There is no schedule of what you will visit and when. Elizabeth the guide is nice but will leave you behind in an instant. Multiple people were confused with the instructions, she will start talking before everybody is gathered and you will lose crucial information. For instance, I didn’t hear her mention when the lunch was and we missed it. When asked to get a refund, she said it was my fault? There is also not enough time in the towns. The boat trip is crowded. Overall, I would not book with ciao Florence again. I would recommend printing a pamphlet with a tentative schedule for the day so travelers have an idea ahead of time

Do not miss this place in Italy!

Amazing landscape with breathtaking view. Note that it’s very intense and the bus is super uncomfortable and crowded… plus a long drive. It’s possible to do the same thing alone since there is no guidance on history etc just technical explanations.

Perfect for active families!

Amazing trip! The guides Sara and Juliano were awesome! Both made sure all families were together and knew the plans of each stop beforehand. It can get a bit chaotic between the different villages and trains and ferry schedules. So be alert, be aware and keep listening to the guides.

Great trip!

Cinque Terre is just beautiful, it was a long life dream to be there! However, the trip itself is not what I imagined for this place. Of the 5 locations, we visited 4 but that means no long stays in each town. If you plan to get in the water (Monterosso and Riomaggiore), you have 30 minutes tops if you want to make it back on time, and they take very seriously the leaving on time policy. For some, the trip might be a bit long, we left the bus station at 7 am, we took 3 trains (metro) and 1 boat ride (ferry), then the bus back to Florence. Our tour guide, Statislava (I am sure I am writing this wrong, sorry!) was amazing! She was always super kind and very helpful. Still, I am very happy to have taken this tour and will definitely be back to at least one or two towns to enjoy a little longer! Views breathtaking as expected!

I did not like this tour. Too many people. The ride to the first train is 2 1/2 hours with no stop for the toilette or some coffee since the bus leaves at 7 most people have not had breakfast. The train was over crowded. On each place we had barely any time. The tour guides were very good but the tour itself could be so much better. First, stop on the way and on the way back for people to use the toilette or have a working toilette on the bus , second go to less towns and give people more time and Third give wireless microphone to guides so people who at be hearing impaired or are too far of a distance away can hear the instructions

Dear Allison, I'm very sorry to hear that the tour didn't meet your expectations. The first stop for the toilet or breakfast is scheduled in La Spezia, after a only two hours ride. As per the Italian law, the service on the bus must stay closed for security reasons but for any emergency, the driver and the tour leader are willing to make a stop at the first equipped rest area. Anyway, this tour is one of our best sellers and participants, that maybe come in Italy once in a life, want to make the most of them experience and visit the more thay can. That's why we offer to visit 4 out of 5 lands with one hour of free time in each village. We know that August is very crowded and so are the trains, but this is a public service and it's beyond our control. We thank you so much for your feedback. We really care about our customers' opinion and think that we can always improve our services. I do really hope you can join one of our tours, maybe during the low season when Italy is less crowded and everything is more relaxing. I wish you a lovely day.

Best day of our vacation!

Had a fabulous day being led around Cinque Terre by tour guide Antonella. She was great at communicating the schedule and meeting places with us so the day tan smoothly. The bus and train rides were fast and easy. We saw 4/5 towns and had time to walk around and get amazing photos (30-45 minutes for most of the stops). The best and longest stop of the day was Monterosso al Mare. We decided to skip the lunch and go swimming for 2 hours on the public beach there- very well worth it. It was the perfect use of our day and we can’t wait to go back!

It was very nice trip overall. Mildly long day and could actually do with one less stop. The boat ride was technically a ferry to the next island so not quite what I had pictured from the description. We still had a nice day

One of the best tours

It was one of the best tours in my experience, very well planned and you get enough time to spend in each stop plus you get to enjoy bus, boat and train ride on the same day. I wish I remembered the name of my tour guide but unfortunately I’m bad with names but he was a fantastic guy very passionate, knowledgeable and experienced all his recommendations were 10/10 be it about having breakfast at a restaurant or shopping or having gelato. Also the lunch included is very good

Beautiful place wrong tour
Nelly_N
, Aug 2022
We arrive 10 mins late and the bus left, which I understand and my complaint is not about that, my problem was that I had to make more than 2 international calls and the customer service number takes you to a machine with music and no one answered! We spent half of the day trying to catch up with them. My complaint is that there should be a way to contact the tour guide directly, to make things easier. Cinque Terre, itself is a gorgeous place but it was over 40•C so it was very hard to enjoy! Everyone (locals) say that you should visit in October or end of April, why no one tells you that?!
