Board your coach in Florence, and travel into the hills of Tuscany where the city of Siena awaits. Opt to take a guided tour of the city with a visit to Siena Cathedral to admire its renowned Gothic architecture. Or, make the most of some free time to set your own pace, and perhaps enjoy a coffee in the sun alongside the locals.

From Siena, return to the Tuscan countryside to explore the Chianti wine region. Stretch your legs with a stroll through a vineyard, olive grove and wine cellar, and refuel with a Tuscan winery lunch. As you sit surrounded by the grape vines, meet other visitors to the area and indulge in local treats such as cold cuts of meat, salad, pasta and fresh bread. Even better, a wine tasting takes place at the same time. (If the tour option without lunch is chosen, this part of the tour is not included but there will be more time spent in San Gimignano).

After lunch, journey onward to San Gimignano with its medieval towers, cobbled streets and squares. Explore the town’s historic center, cool down with a refreshing gelato and wander amid the 14 towers as you learn about their history.

Travel from San Gimignano to Pisa: your final stop of the day. Follow your guide to Cathedral Square to discover Pisa Duomo, Pisa Baptistry, the monumental cemetery (aka Camposanto) and, of course, the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Return to Florence in the early evening, and finish your Tuscany tour with a drop-off at the start point.

The tour was great and Olivia was a fantastic guide, engaging, sharing some interesting facts about the places we visited. The tour was a great opportunity to explore the beautiful region of Tuscany. We enjoyed the lunch with wine tasting at the family farm with a lovely view of San Gimignano. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Florence with a day to spare.

It was SUCH a pleasure to spend a good portion of the day with our amazing tour leader, Alessandro. He was MEANT for this and speaks with so much passion and admiration for his country. The tour would not have been the same without him. A good amount of time was given so we may go about doing our own thing. A good amount was also given to learning just how much history there is within the beautiful regions visited. Do not hesitate, book this tour with WalkAbout. I must also add that our driver, Ricardo, was awesome as well. Lovely company, lovely experience. A huge thank you to Alessandro & Ricardo.

A day in Tuscany

So many experiences in one tour - it was amazing! I am horrible remembering names, but I think our guide was Olivia - she was amazing, going out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. The tour itself was nothing short of extraordinary. We were able to see a couple of the hill towns and the winery farm was excellent - you must do the lunch! And then after all that, we went to Pisa and this tour gave us the opportunity to climb the leaning tower - something on my bucket list. I highly recommend this tour and felt it was well organized!

Unforgettable day with wonderful people!

What an amazing day! Our guide Lavinia (Lavi) was wonderful. She took the tour to another level, not any boring speech and above all she was very helpful and caring. We can see that she loves her job and she is very passionate about it. Of course the tour would be incomplet without our coach driver Ricardo and our guide in Sienna who was lovely and very knowledgeable. We were 3 including my 3 years old son and the ride to each place was very smooth and we felt safe all the time thanks to Ricardo. I loved Sienna, the leaning tower of Pisa and specially the lunch at the winery with a breathtaking view on the Tuscany field and the medieval village of San Gimignano. The food is all organic and tasty and we got a visit of the farm which was great as well. Be ready to enjoy one of the greatest wine (the Chianti) and put some good shoes as you’re going to have a good amount of walk. It worth every penny and you will definitely love that tour! Grazie Mille!!!
