Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep

Such a great day with Alec! He's fun, informative, and an excellent driver. He showed us a bunch of places that would have been hard to find on our own. And he takes great photos!

Alec was great! Showed up some interesting places we wouldn't have found by ourselves or with a big group tour. The weather was beautiful so having the open air jeep was amazing. Plus, once he saw my husband was interested in photography, he kept pointing out and finding the best shots!

The bamboo forest and all of the waterfalls were amazing! Alec took some great pictures of us! The folks we met along the way that ran the banana bread stand and the jewelry from a local were awesome as well!

Alec picked us up promptly at 7:00am for our Road to Hana (RTH) adventure. He is a really nice guy and was very accommodating. He gauged what our “adventure level” was in order to get an idea of what he wanted us to experience. And, he wasn’t pushy nor did he force us to do anything we didn’t want to. He showed us places we definitely would not have seen or experienced had we traveled the RTH on our own. We saw beautiful landscape, amazing waterfalls, traversed a Bamboo forest, felt the warm sun and sky turn to light rain as we went further up. We had delicious banana bread and other treats along the way too! We really enjoyed our time with Alec and “Lease-a”, and highly recommend this tour if you’re thinking about visiting the RTH! Quick Tips: Bring a small camera or your phone. Bring sunscreen Sunglasses Wear a long sleeve shirt. Trust us, we felt the wrath of the mosquitos (or whatever enjoyed our tasty skin) the following day. If you don’t want to wear a long sleeve, at least bring bug spray. Definitely bring a pair of shoes you don’t mind getting soaked and walking in as well. You WILL find a few spots to take a dip and cool off. Bring a towel if you don’t dry off after walking back to the jeep. It may come in handy. Wear some comfortable shoes that have tread if possible. Some spots are a bit slippery, the shoes may or may not help, but they will when you want that extra grip on dry areas. Bring a change of clothes/shoes and/or some flip flops for the ride home. Overall the experience was awesome, and unforgettable!! You won’t regret it.

Alec was the BEST! I am a bigger girl with worries of what I can and can’t do. Alec was excellent, he won’t push you too hard but will get you out of that comfort zone! Get out there and make those memories, trust Alec to help you do that. I adore him and so will you!!! With every dime. 🌸🤙🏻

We had an amazing day with Alec on the road to Hana. He was on time for our pick up, friendly, informative, and fun! We got to see everything we had hoped all from the open air of his jeep. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for your own personalized experience as opposed to the larger van tours. Alec is a great guide and wants you to love it.

My husband and I booked Alec for our honeymoon and had a great time! We are fairly experienced hikers so he tailored the day for us, bringing us to some hidden waterfalls with streams and volcanic rock to climb in and around. Alec knew the road really well and we felt safe driving with him the entire time. On the way back to the resort, he also drove us through Lahaina to help us get a lay of the land for our trip there the next day which we really appreciated. Wish the day was longer and we could have shared a cool beer with him after! :)

My husband and I took this tour and we highly recommend it. Alec was awesome! He was an excellent driver and really knew how to navigate the highway. We were able to get off the road and see some things that we would have never seen on our own and that we know others have not seen. I was a bit apprehensive about navigating some of the paths but Alec was patient and helpful and encouraged us to keep going. We felt safe in his care. He knew all of the great places to get photos and he took our camera and took many amazing photos which we really appreciated because we could enjoy the scenery while he captured the day and we were able to get photos with both of us in them. We would have never driven this road ourselves but we really wanted to go. We felt like we were in great hands with Alec. He was not only a good driver, he was a very courteous driver and at times helped others navigate their way on the road as well as those hiking on the trails. This was the highlight of our trip to Maui. We highly recommend this tour.
