Departure Time

10:00 AM
Your tour starts with pickup from your Valletta hotel and a short transfer to the port to board your ferry. Enjoy the views as you glide across the Mediterranean and after an around 30-minute cruise, arrive on the island of Gozo. Transfer to a bus to explore the island, starting with the star attraction – the UNESCO-listed Ggantija temples. As you marvel at the megalithic temples, hear how they were erected during the Neolithic Age, more than 5,550 years ago. Not only are they older than the Egyptian Pyramids and England’s Stonehenge, but they are the second-oldest religious structures in the world, after Gobekli Tepe in Turkey.

Continue to Marsalforn, where you’ll board the trackless train for a fun ride along the coast. Along the way, enjoy magnificent views of Marsalforn Bay, Qbajjar Bay, and Xwejni Bay, and spot landmarks such as the Salt Pans and Salvatur Statue.

Back in the bus, make a stop at the Gozo Craft Centre, where you’ll have chance to admire local handicrafts, purchase some unique souvenirs, or sample some typical Maltese food. Then, head to the island capital, Victoria, pausing along the way to admire views of the Inland Sea and Dwejra Bay.

In Victoria, follow your guide on a short walking tour, taking in attractions such as the Cittadella and Gozo Cathedral, then enjoy free time for sightseeing or shopping independently.

Finally, head to Rabat and finish the day with a delicious buffet dinner at a local restaurant, before catching the ferry back to Malta. Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel in the evening.

Great tour
, Jan 2022
Great, relaxing tour from beginning to end. Our tour guide was great and the day was just perfect. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys nature and good architecture.
Guide was great. Temples were amazing. But tour way too long. 10 hours!!
, Nov 2021
Tour company needs to shorten this tour and remove some of boring filler stops. Focus on the Temples. Our guide was great but because the tour was so long (10 hours) and lunch was moved to 4pm many people were frustrated.
Excellent excursion.

Rachel, our guide, was brilliant. She gave us a great deal of information about the history of the islands ancient and modern, keeping 31 strangers entertained during a complex series of events, in poor weather. Lunch was good, too.
Interesting trip but poorly organised
, Feb 2020
Very poor organisation spoiled what should have been a great day trip. Overall the sites visited were really interesting, especially the temple which was the highlight, although the 15 minute stop at a shop which was unnecessary. It is a very long day from Valletta and we didn’t get back to the hotel until 20:00, which wasn’t advertised when we booked. There was an issue with timings and we didn’t have lunch until 15:30. There were people left behind as they weren’t back at the bus on time. The guide and bus driver argued, which was quite entertaining if not a little awkward! Then when we arrived back in Malta our bus hadn’t arrived and we were left waiting in the cold for 15 minutes. The tour guide seemed really stressed and moaned about the drivers etc which wasn’t very professional.
Temples closed!
, Dec 2019
Ok trip, but the main reason for joining was the temples. I was informed on the bus that they were closed on the 24. december. This shoul hav been related to me beforehand, especially because my trip was moved by the company from the 25. to 24. december.
Terrific Tour and Great Way to See the Highlights of Gozo
, Oct 2019
Not really knowing what to expect, this turned out to be one of my very favorite tours among the 10+ I took while in Malta this summer. It is a very full, long day, but definitely worth it. From the ferry ride to the small train ride to the salt flats to the Temples and so much more, we had a packed, exhausting, but really interesting, fun day. Although we were a busload of people, Victor did his best to keep us on the move. His enthusiasm and energy was inspiring, and people seemed to thoroughly enjoy the trip. Only hitch seemed to be at the end when there was no one from the company to pick us up at the ferry terminal (the van was late) so we had to call the company to find out what was happening. Let me add a bit of commentary on Malta tours--they are not for the feint of heart. What i mean is that most tours first pick people up from across the island and then deliver them to another point where we transfer to another bus. This means early morning pickups and waits to be sorted out and boarded on our particular tour bus. This can cause delays, confusion and frustration sometimes. If you know this before you go, you probably can deal with it better. The island is small, but traffic moves very slowly through narrow streets, so that's just how things go. Just be prepared to call the tour company if you have a problem or concern. They seem to be very responsive, even early in the morning as they work out the logistics.

The guide was friendly and informative. The restaurant chosen for lunch was below average for selection and taste. It seemed like the tour was behind schedule and we didn't spend that much time at some of the places.

This tour has the makings to be great, unfortunately it wasn't. We got off to a poor start by being picked up 20 minutes late, not a massive amount I agree, but you could sense a little hostility from the other people waiting on the bus as if it was our fault we were late. The Ferry crossing across from Malta to Gozo was fine, however we then had to transfer to a coach based on Gozo. Sadly, this coach was extremely old and not in a cute, classic kind of way and the seat I sat on was broken, meaning it felt like I was sitting in a rocking chair, and every time the coach accelerated or braked I had to cling on for fear of toppling forward or backwards. The Ggantija Temples were interesting enough, as was the excursion to the sadly now collapsed Azure Window, But the trip took another downward turn when, for some unexplained reason,we stopped for 45 minutes at a glorified gift shop. The guide then proceeded to grab a microphone and goad and cajole us into buying items that can be bought at every other souvenir shop in Malta for a lot less money. Why this stop was deemed to be worthy of 5 minutes, let alone 45 staggered more than a few of us on the trip, and the vast majority ended up sitting back on a hot coach for half an hour waiting for a couple of people who seemed to need the whole 45 minute stop to stock up on souvenirs. By this time, it was well past 3pm, and we were told our next stop would be for lunch in Victoria. Sadly, because of the ridiculous amount of time spent at the souvenir shop we were told we only had 1 hour 15 minutes to eat lunch and look around Victoria, a great shame as I would have liked to have visited the Citadel and explore the streets without the mild indigestion gained from having to bolt our lunch. Next up was a trackless train ride to visit the salt pans on Gozos Northern coast. Again, a nice enough idea, however it was so windy that the trackless train had its opaque plastic sides down, meaning we observed the fleeting salt pans rather like you would observe your neighbours garden, through a heavy net curtain. The trackless train didn't even stop and let us out so we might take a picture or two, it was a quick rush job up and down the coast and it was all over in about 15 frustrating minutes. And to crown an already disappointing day, as we arrived to board the ferry back to the main Malta Island, the ticket gates shut with half out group unable to catch the same ferry, meaning those that got through had to sit on the coach on the Malta side and wait for 45 minutes for those of us that could not board and had to wait the 45 minutes for the next ferry. A simple request from our guide asking if all 49 people would be able to board would have alleviated this problem, or better still a brief knowledge of the ferry timetable so that we arrived at the terminal with time enough to board as 1 group. My advice to perspective purchasers of this tour would be to avoid it at all costs. If you are able to, you can do a Hop on Hop off tour of Gozo, which I feel would be a lot better, as you can set your own timetable, and save a bit of money as well.

We got a late start with too many pick-ups so some times were shortened but it was such a lovely day and, though I am 80 years old, I can really move so got to see a lot and read up on areas before the tour. I fell in love with Malta, will be back and am hearing the same thing from other friends who were with me or traveled there in the past few years. I will give the place more time on my next visit. The included lunch was very good best meal I had on Malta.

Those in charge for this tour was very helpful and kept us in contact until our tour day. The ferry connection and the bus tour was wonderful. The sites we visited was awesome and the lunch was great. Thank you. Marjorie
