Tour of the Laura Plantation and Houmas house were the highlights of our trip. Of course, the tour guide at the plantation was extremely knowledgeable. Steve, our driver was punctual, friendly and also knowledgeable about the history of the city and food. Must also add, the lunch at the Houmas house was very good, offering a variety of Cajun and Creole food.

This was by far the best day of our trip to New Orleans. From the second we were picked up at our hotel (right on time) we felt welcomed by our tour guide Renee. He was WONDERFUL!!! He was so funny and so kind he made the van trips a fun experience. He was also so knowledgeable about everything…from the places we passed to the history of the city, he had stories and facts about everything. Our airboat tour was also incredible. We had so much fun with Dalton and he taught us a lot about the land and all the critters in it. Both plantation tours were so interesting, and our guides made the experience out of this world amazing. The grounds were some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and both plantation homes were full of history. The stories told about the slaves and the people that lives in these homes brought tears to my eyes more than once. Tours by Isabell was the best company to work with and they kept me informed with all the detail up to the day before or excursion. This was truly one of the best experiences we could ask for as tourists to the area and I can’t speak highly enough about the company, or guide/driver Renee (SERIOUSLY HE WAS THE BEST) and, our overall experience.

The guides were phenomenal! We so enjoyed the quiet morning on the air boat - such peaceful experience in the nature. When we returned, other tours were arriving, so it felt very special to be alone in the morning with just our small tour. The guide at the Laura plantation was not just telling the stories, she was acting them out, dramatically, in a funny way, with lots of energy. Superb!! The last guide also was very fun. Lunch was delicious. And everything we learned while driving to and from from our guide Steve, was excellent. 100% well done!

Airboat tour: alligators in the bayou!! This part was great. The 2 plantation tours were disappointing. Lunch was ok, not great. Overpriced overall. I'd advise going on the airboat tour separately and doing the Houmas plantation if you're interested in a mansion. A long day, lots of driving.

For my husband and I, the airboat was definitely the highlight of the day. Our airboat driver and guide was very knowledgeable of the area and entertaining, I was sorry when it was over! After that we went back on the air conditioned bus to the Laura Plantation, was informative and interesting, then back on the bus to the Houmas Plantation, where a buffet lunch was included. Also an interesting and informative stop. Our tours by Isabel driver, Steve, was with us for the day. He was well informed and kept us comfortable. All in all, a great day, we recommend it!
