Waterfall Hike and Nature Walk

This tour was great. She was very knowledgeable and a fantastic guide. The incline of the mountain made this a great way to get in steps and muscle endurance all while taking in beautiful sites.

Serge was a fun and knowledgeable guide! We had a great hike up to see the waterfall and enjoyed the lush views along the way. If you love a short hike and are moderately fit, you will simply enjoy this trek!

The experience was amazing and our tour guide was so friendly. The hike was so beautiful and serene I would definitely do this again when I come to visit again.

We had an excellent adventure. It was just my wife and I and our guide Sergei. A native Islander he was perfect for this trip, off the usual destinations. Everything the advertisement has promised, it was there. Only the local lack of rainfall made the falls less than spectacular. The hike was not overly strenuous, but it is hilly. You do need good trail shoes. A great afternoon trip

Our guide, Sergei, didn’t stop talking about himself for the entire trip. He seemed to think he was more interesting than the scenery, anything about Hawaii or any of us on the tour meeting each other. He just didn’t shut up and often talked over other people. The waterfall was barely a trickle which is not the fault of the tour. The route was slippery with loose rocks and it was steep in places, so it was not that much fun. Sergei did show us a nice spot for a view before we got to the waterfall area. Unfortunately he thought it would be fun to take us to a bakery for cheesecake. However, some people decided to order lunch so we were stuck waiting while their meals were made… I think Sergei was trying very hard, but he needs to grow up a bit.

I purchased this hiking tour because I didn’t want to hike alone in an unfamiliar place. The positives: on-time pick-up, friendly guide who took pics whenever asked, BEAUTIFUL scenery. The challenges: As a 3-4 hr experience, I expected the hike to proceed at a slower pace where I could actually take in and enjoy the nature around me as much as reaching the waterfall. Our guide was a young, 23-yr old who’s fit and has done the hike many times for recreation/exercise in addition to leading tours. That is how the pace of our hike up the mountain felt—more like a workout, much less like a $129 waterfall hike AND NATURE tour. The focus on reaching the waterfall quickly and feeling like I was missing out on the nature journey to and from the waterfall got a little frustrating. On our way down, our small group slowed down on our own and proceeded at our own pace. The guide ended up stopping quite a few times so that we could catch up to him. Tips: Communicate clearly if the guide is speeding through your tour — wish I had been more explicit about that. as we huffed and sweated up the mountain. Ask to pack the poncho the company provides in your backpack. Despite me asking twice about the ponchos before heading out, the guide decided we wouldn’t need them and left them in the van w/o asking if we’d like to make our own choice about it. It started raining when we were at the top and continued as we made our way down. Ask to stop at the smoothie shop after the hike. Had I not asked, we would’ve jumped back in the van afterwards and headed back to our hotels. The guide didn’t offer it as an option, even though it’s on the tour website. Tip the tour guide. I noticed that the other members in my group didn’t, and they seemed satisfied with most of the tour. To conclude, although there were things that didn’t fully meet my expectations, overall the guide was friendly and provided a good service. I’d probably recommend this tour for a person who is hiking solo, or a small group that has little or no hiking experience and would like the convenience of being picked up and dropped off at their hotel. I do think it was overpriced for what I got in the end.

The waterfall wasn’t flowing like I had hoped, but being out in the nature was worth every penny. Our tour guide was great; kept things lively and moving. She gave many recommendations as well.
