To start, our conductor on the bus 3 was superb. We were informed of what to expect _ things to do. The music & dancers were so good, the fire show was exciting, the food was flavorful. Every thing was well coordinated.

Not a buffet style Luau. Small portions of food I liked. Wasted food that I would not eat. Bought a picture package that were missing most of the pictures.

Warning! Tourist Trap!
Donnie_H
, Oct 2021
The Paradise Cove Luau is simply a tourist trap. The entire experience felt thrown together. The food was horrendous and to have paid over one hundred dollars to attend left my entire entourage feeling cheated and very underwhelmed.

Great Memories
Michelle_P
, Oct 2021
We purchased transportation to the luau from our hotel which was an extra $40 per person. From start to finish it was well organized. We were picked up on time and had to show proof of vaccination before boarding the bus. Then we had to fill out a contact tracing card. The guide was funny and her name was Cousin Nu. We arrived and she gave us our cove card and explained everything. We went shopping in their store and the kids were able to get cool stuff they liked. The prices were very reasonable. We then went to play games . We did the javelin throw and bowling. We had a lot of laughs and also got more lei shells for participating. Once we entered we got our complimentary drink. One had alcohol and the other didn’t. There was an area that taught us how to tie a sarong and then taught us a dance. We also saw the dances performed and they explained how the pig was cooked in the ground. We were then dismissed by table to go get our food. The plates were already prepared. One was salad. The other had fish, chicken, pig, poi salsa, tartar sauce, veggies, pasta salad, and a roll. The only disappointment was having to stand in line to buy drinks. We tried the lava flow and pina colada. Both were very good. Great time had by all.

A waste of money and time
Chinh_N
, Oct 2021
The food was terrible and cold. Pulled pork was very very salty and dry, chicken was hard and chewy. The only tasty food was the white rice and sweet bread. They were unorganized with the activities and directing guests where to go once you arrived at your table. Most of the time you just sit and wait and long pauses between waiting for the show to start. The only think that was ok was the alcohol. The luau was not 5 hours long as advertised! Overall, this was the most unorganized and boring luau we have ever been. We came with a large group too. Don’t waste your money! We wanted to go to the Polynesian luau at the Polynesian Center but it was sold out a month or more prior.

Okay

Experiencing the luau was great. However, there was a lot of down time. Having to stand in such long lines at the bar was not fun, especially when I had to miss one of the two activities they had.

Not a good Aloha spirit experience
Bill_C
, Oct 2021
A luau is definitely a touristy thing, so you have to expect some hokey elements. But, the biggest part of Hawaii is the aloha spirit - warm, friendly, welcoming and the staff left much to be desired in that area. The folks checking vax cards were short and when I asked that wristband not be tight, was ignored. The welcome mai tai was sugar juice with a splash of rum maybe. The crews doing the games were friendly enough - especially the canoe group. We got a glass of wine and were trying to decide where to go and were yelled at by security about "go sit down and drink. no wandering around" We were looking around to get back to our seats and she was just mean. The initial shows and demonstrations were good - those leading were warm and fun. The mc of the main show was so annoying.... and the dress changes like she was Tyra Banks on DWTS was so commercial. No warm feeling of sharing culture with us. The food was just ok - I get that it is a buffet and covid made that hard but it was just so so. I wouldn't do this again. Would definitely book a smaller, more intimate and personal experience rather than this very commercial and cold experience.

Awful
John_M
, Oct 2021
The food was terrible. There was no smell of any roasted pig, as claimed...as a matter of fact the plates of food for the VIP section came out to set up at least 20 minutes before they even claimed to take the pig out of the I'm. The hot food was stone cold, the cold salads were room temperature, the pork was so salty it was inedible. Worst food I've had on Hawaii. I felt robbed....terrible.
