Highlight of our trip!

Fantastic experience, best part of my trip! We did the market stroll which was great as I was able to buy some cheese. Then, we went to the kitchen and Ricardo gave an excellent step-by-step demonstration of how to make pasta. All throughout we drank wine and chatted with other guests. After making a couple of types of pasta, Ricardo made sauces and we all ate together and drank together - it felt like being at big family dinner. I would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Rome!

Great intro to Italy!

Marco’s tour of the markets, mixed with a fascinating lesson on Italian history, was a perfect introduction to Rome. He was terrific with our three young children, and when he told me my ravioli was bellissimo, I melted just like his brown butter sage sauce. Highly recommend!

Pasta making In Rome

Didn’t realize this was an all day adventure. Started at 11:15 and we weren’t finished until 4:30. We spent way too long (2 hours) walking to the central Market to gather our supplies, which was interesting but unnecessary. I believe the tour discription says a 10 minutes stroll.....it was not! Once back to the Yellow Hostel to cook, the kitchen was filthy (as you’d expect at a hostel) and people who were staying there kept coming in and out using the kitchen during the class. Marco was not prepared for the class and kept running back and forth across the street for supplies he needed; utensils, wine glasses, paperwork, etc. The instruction itself was fun and the food that we made was delicious.

I like how he showed us how to make different types of pasta. We didn't learn how to choose the right food at the market. We just followed him around. We made and ate a lot of food. It would have been nice to have a drink besides wine because it was hot. I say skip the market and lower the price.

This was completely disorganized and not what we expected based on previous reviews. We cooked in a hostel kitchen that wasn't cleaned or cleared off. Our "chef" wasted so much time we had to leave early before we could even eat our food.

TOUR OPERATOR COMMENT: We have the Pasta Cooking Class at Kitchen of Mamma inside the YellowSquare which is a fun environment and our guides are professionals who work hard to provide the best experience possible. We're truly sorry if your experience was not what you expected. We hope you can come back someday and finish eating the delicious food you learn to make.

Our chef amazing, got a certificate of completion after class. Great food, even if I made it myself! Took us to market to buy fresh ingredients, step by step how to made, cook and EAT pasta. Totally enjoyable, perfect way to enjoy food of Italy, and we had wine too.

This was extremely enjoyable to go to a market to buy the ingredients and enjoy the food in which we made. I don't remember the guys name that gave the class but he was delightful.

Marco was awesome, and so great to work with. He was so patient with my children and made the whole thing fun. We loved making the pasta, and enjoyed the tour immensely. It was an excellent value, the food was great. Even with a few minor hiccups, it was a highlight for sure. He even gave us some great recommendations on where to eat and get Gelato. If you get a chance to do this, do it. It was so much fun!

Heerlijke pasta-kookworkshop
