Your Rome culinary adventure starts in Piazza Farnese, where you meet your guide and set off on your walking tour, making your way first to Campo de’ Fiori. Visit the popular food market here, where stalls overflow with fresh veggies, meats, and cheeses. While you take in the bustling atmosphere, meet some of the vendors, who provide samples of their tasty goods.

Next, head over to Trastevere, a quaint neighborhood whose cobbled lanes are home to favorite local restaurants and cafes. Walk through the district with your guide, stopping at various eateries for tastings of classic Roman dishes like pasta, pizza bianca (pizza with no tomato sauce), fresh mozzarella cheese, locally cured salami, and artisan gelato.

Then continue to the Jewish Quarter, a bohemian district south of Rome’s historical center known for its vintage shops and art studios. Stop by local grocery stores and delicatessens around Piazza della Cinque Scole for samples of specialties like risotto balls, known as suppli, and fried artichokes and codfish.

With a full stomach, your tour ends in Trastevere.

We had a great time and our guide was very knowledgeable on the cultural and local cuisine. Highly recommend if you are a “foodie”. I would also recommend skipping the meal prior to your tour! You will eat several meals during the tour.

Food, Glorious Food

Daniella was charming, knowledgable, engaging, and gracious. She lead us through an entire journey of history, art, gossip, and food, glorious food. I learned a lot, which given I have written a cookbook, do food blogging, create food pairings for Molesini Wine Club, and spent 6 years as a food writer for magazines, is amazing. I highly recommend this tour.

Unique welcome to Rome. Essential to understanding the city.

This is a brilliant tour, expertly led by a lady born and bred in Rome. She is passionate and proud of her culture, so she is the perfect teacher to inspire your interest and curiosity. This is easily as important a tour to join as the obvious ones to the Colosseum etc. And it is much more convivial and relaxed! You will learn why Romans eat the food they do, and how deeply connected it is with their history and culture. And you get to eat and drink and discuss too! What could be better? This is the best way to learn and briefly even to become a part of where you are, rather than just an onlooker. A unique experience and a beautiful welcome to Rome.

Amazing gastro walking tour

This was a most amazing experience from start to finish! Lisa, our guide was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The food was sublime. The Lazio Chardonnay the best white wine I've tasted. It was my birthday and Lisa arranged a little celebration in one of the restaurants - thank you once again. If you want to experience real Roman food, take this tour. My husband and I cannot recommend it highly enough: it was just yummy.
