Your Rome culinary adventure starts in Piazza Farnese, where you meet your guide and set off on your walking tour, making your way first to Campo de’ Fiori. Visit the popular food market here, where stalls overflow with fresh veggies, meats, and cheeses. While you take in the bustling atmosphere, meet some of the vendors, who provide samples of their tasty goods.

Next, head over to Trastevere, a quaint neighborhood whose cobbled lanes are home to favorite local restaurants and cafes. Walk through the district with your guide, stopping at various eateries for tastings of classic Roman dishes like pasta, pizza bianca (pizza with no tomato sauce), fresh mozzarella cheese, locally cured salami, and artisan gelato.

Then continue to the Jewish Quarter, a bohemian district south of Rome’s historical center known for its vintage shops and art studios. Stop by local grocery stores and delicatessens around Piazza della Cinque Scole for samples of specialties like risotto balls, known as suppli, and fried artichokes and codfish.

With a full stomach, your tour ends in Trastevere.

The tour was great, our guide was knowledgeable about the area and extremely easy to interact with. We got to see different areas of Rome that we may not have thought to walk through before. As for the food you gets wide variety that Rome has to offer. The suppli (pictured) was my absolute favorite. You most definitely do not leave hungry! The only downfall was that the specific place we went for pasta does not hand make theirs. With all the options in Rome I would have expected somewhere that are their pasta in house.

A wide-ranging, fun evening

This tour was a fun walk and we learned a lot. Our guide was excellent - she grew up in the very neighborhood where we started. The food and wine tastings were very good and there was good value. I think our only mistake was going on a Sunday - lots of shops were closed which made the neighborhoods a bit less lively.
icon Response from Host , Aug 2022
Thanks David for this kind review. Rome is a city that offers different views in different timing. Sundays are quiter in the Campo de Fiori area, but more lively in the Jewish Quarter, the opposite for Saturdays. As well as in the morning there is the market and in the afternoon the lively happy hour atmosphere. Always is different but always worth it. Thank you for joining us

Explore the hidden neighborhoods of Rome!

I was only in Rome for 3 days and I really wanted to explore all of the food neighborhoods. This tour was great cause it took you to neighborhoods you probably wouldn’t visit on your own! I truly felt like I was living in the dean Martin song “evening in Roma.” I loved it so much. Our group was also really fun, one of the best tour groups I’ve been on. Everyone was mingling and having fun. The price is lower than other food tours so just be aware that the portions for the food are a little smaller. I was still very satisfied but if you have a big appetite prepare to eat more after on your own or before. They did gave us a generous amount of wine though!! Our tour guide was also great. Sadly I didn’t catch her name because I was having a lot of fun but she was very sweet and fun to talk to. The only thing I suggest is to project your voice more when in a tour. I also have a soft voice so I understand. I highly suggest this tour, my bf and I had a great time and we loved exploring Roman neighborhoods we would have not went to on our own. Book it now!!!!!😊

The entire tour was outstanding. Our guide provided on point information about life in Rome. From the marketplace to the gelato, each stop was better than the last. And the food (and wine) were fantastic. But our guide Clarisa made the tour extra special.
