Full day tour to Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius from Sorrento

Vincenzo was a truly awesome guide. He is exceptionally knowledgeable about the archaeology and history of the sites and is extremely entertaining during the whole trip. Gave some great discussions during the bus ride there, a wonderful tour of Pompeii, and then some really helpful information on the bus for our ascent up Vesuvio. (The tour guides can't actually go up the final hike with you passed the bus stationing area as there are regulations that prevent non-park staff from touring the area) but honestly having that hour going up and down the top with just yourself and your travelmates is so serene and amazing that I think it works out better that way. Couldn't have asked for a more interesting day of experiencing history and nature. Thanks, Vincenzo!

Coach picked up opposite hotel as arranged and on had one other pick up en route. Our guide was interesting and humorous giving us just the right amount of detail on the journey. Coach comfortable and cool. Tickets for Pompeii and vesuvius paid for on coach and purchased by guide when we arrived. The coach driver sold bottled water for one euro a bottle as opposed to one euro 50 at Pompeii. Remains breathtaking, very hot with very little shade. Guide took us along slowly to see all the main places of interest. A lot of the site was missed because it is so vast and we only had so much time. We were satisfied with the amount and archaeology that we saw. Afterwards, we were taken to a local restaurant for a limited menu lunch by the guide. You did not have to go and could have found somewhere else in the town. Prices were high though and as time was limited we went with the guide. Pizza, ice cream, cold drink 14 euros, use of lovely toilets and cool seating. Coach then left for Vesuvius. Parked 20 to 40 mins walk from top. You could stay in the coach or around lower area, lovely views from here and cafe if you didn't want to walk. Took us 40 minutes. Cafe at the top for a cold drink. then return. Quite steep but a good gravel path which was a bit slippery on the way down. Waking sticks can be borrowed for a small tip to help with the walk.Great views from the top. Posted postcards in the yellow postbox (tracked postage) and according to the tracking they are still there 2 weeks later!!! Dropped at hotel on return, a really good day. Couldn't fault any of the arrangements.I would recommend this trip to others

Great morning in Pompeii then afternoon jaunt to Vesuvius.Spent round 2 to 3 hours in each.One word of advice is to take some form of hat as you are out underneath the searing sun for long periods.When given the opportunity in the afternoon to climb Vesuvius,take it(providing you are fit enough)The views are amazing.

Our tour was ok. First in the morning we had a hard time finding the tour bus. There were multiple buses and no signs. And the tour we were with was under a different name then we were told. The bus ride was comfortable. Our tour guide Lia was very nice and a breath of fresh air but we had an extremely hard time understanding her with the ear pieces at Pompeii. My friend and I felt slightly rushed and we could not hear/understand what Lia was saying most of the time. At lunch Lia brought us to a restaurant where you pay a set fee and get a drink food and dessert. I do not recommend eating here. We felt rushed and the food was not worth the 15€. I recommend trying to eat somewhere else around the Pompeii site. The Mount Vesuvius part was very cool but at the end there was a couple that ended up being over 30 minutes late to the meeting time and the whole group of 20-30 people on the bus had to wait. We recommend having the price for the Pompeii ticket included as well. We felt we were having to constantly pay for thing during the tour with the already pretty expensive tickets.

This was a good tour but the travel time to Pompeii was too long. Too many stops to pick people up and traffic was heavy. Only at Pompeii for 1 hr and 40 min. Mt. Vesuvius was great. The trail up is pretty steep but definitively doable for all ages. My wife did not want to do this but was very happy afterwards. Again, an OK tour just too much time in a bus. Maybe private tour would be better??

Our Guide Teresa was excellent! Great amount of time in each location with a break for lunch in the middle. This tour definitely exceeded my expectations!

Very informative tour. Our guide Roberta was excellent. She was very informative and pleasant. Her singing of familiar Italian songs and asking the tour members to join in the singing made the trip especially enjoyable.

Loved this tour. Bus was v comfy, tour guide was amazing. She was so informative and friendly. Plenty of time in both places. We didn't bother signing up for the optional lunch on the day as it felt a bit like get the tourists in and get them out, but couldn't fault the actual trip. Viator has delivered yet again.

Excellent tour. Our guide was very knowledgable and the hike to the top of Mt. Vesuvius was amazing.

My Vesuvius was incredible, the views were great. It’s a bit of a walk- it’s a volcano- I wassuprised many of the other tourists didn’t want to hike it... Pompeii was neat but it was a long tour and not my thing.
