What a magical and fantastic night, all 3 artists performed fantastic, it would be silly to go to taormina and not have an opera night as it was outstanding! You should not miss this,! We went on may 9 2022 great enjoyable evening and would definitely go again !

The title was Italian opera with arias and firsts from the classic operas. The was not one opera song, no arias, no duets. So basically the evening had zero resemblance to what was expected. The musicians (pianist and violinist) were very talented and played mainly Italian ballads with the smattering of classic song. The singer was talented but sang about 1/3 of the time. To summarise, the evening was not what was billed.

Fabulous baritone, soprano and pianist who performed 5 arias and a piano solo before intermission when we were served sparkling wine. The second half featured 4 arias and another piano solo. We then had two encores. The performers were very engaging and related well to the audience. The place was packed on a rainy Monday night.

The queue outside is a good guide to the venue, a smallish room but there wasn't a seat empty so booking ahead is wise. A relaxed combination of arias, sensible balance of serious and fun made for a nice evening.

Having been to a couple of these Italian Opera evenings we immediately booked again for this visit to Taormina. We were a little disappointed this time however with the lack of actual opera and although very good- music which was “ different “ rather more obscure. One could tell by audience reaction that we were not alone in this opinion. IMO I think majority of folk go to hear the most popular recognised extracts. Probably boring for the artistes but I’m sure more entertaining for the audience. Having said that we could not criticise the venue the staff etc. Just disappointed with the programme

What a wonderful evening spent listening to a Soprano and Tenor sing favorites from various operas. And the piano accompaniment was superb - he even had two of his own solos. Highly recommend!!
